If you’ve got your finger on the pulse of the fashion world, you’ll know a collaboration between Maison Margiela and Christian Louboutin has been brewing for some time now. In fact, the duo teased their creations over a year ago, at Margiela’s instantly iconic Spring Summer 24 Haute Couture show, where the famed Tabi received Louboutin’s signature red-bottomed makeover. If, like us, these shoes have been living rent free in your mind since then, you’re in luck: the capsule collection is officially available to shop today.

The collection features two distinct capsules: Maison Margiela by Christian Louboutin and Christian Louboutin by Maison Margiela, each showcasing the idiosyncratic design languages of the two Houses.

The Maison Margiela by Christian Louboutin collection reinterprets the signature Tabi and its emblematic split-toe silhouette through Louboutin’s always elegant lens. The result is three signature styles: the Bridiela Una Strass, a bridal pump adorned with crystal encrustations (2025 brides, take note), the Loubiella, a seductive sandal with asymmetrical straps, and the Marlougiela ballerina, a take on the classic Tabi infused with Louboutin’s penchant for sleek, sculptural lines.

On the flip side, the Christian Louboutin by Maison Margiela collection deconstructs Louboutin’s seductive silhouettes through the Margiela’s signature “decortiqué” technique, which strips away layers to expose the essential structure beneath — seams, boning, and closures that are usually hidden from view. This technique takes shape across three styles. The first is the Bilougiela 25, an ankle-strap sandal based on Christian Louboutin’s Kate Max pumps, with a deconstructed heel cap and partly peeled away upper surface. Next is the Martinloula, a pointed pump offest with a curvaceous faux-cul heel cap — the kind created by Christian Louboutin for the Maison Margiela Spring Summer 2024 couture show There’s also the Xrismarteen, which expands the Martinloula into a knee-length boot where, via decortiqué, he leather has collapsed into draped strips along the shaft of the boot to reveal the lining. And finally, the Martoubi 25 is a white leather pump, daubed in a spontaneous red brushstroke, designed to mimic a smear of red nail polish.
