What the 'RUSSH' editors are shopping in March

As we welcome in March, we’re rearranging our wardrobes for a shift in weather. There seems to be a theme in the RUSSH office – deeper tones. One might say “deeper tones in Autumn… ground breaking”, but something we can all agree on is that brown is making its mark in 2025, not just this season.

This month, we have rounded up what we have in our carts – with a shared love for friends with frank’s new Autumn collection – as well as some new tailoring, skincare and accessories. Enjoy.

March is my birthday month, so I’m dreaming big! I have my eye on this Friends with Frank chocolate trench coat (though I love the whole collection). Top of my accessories wishlist is an Alaia Le Teckel bag. I do love the classic black, though this chesnut tone feels special heading into Autumn/Winter.

It has become a tradition of sorts to add a new coffee table book to my collection each birthday, and this year I have my eye on La Fabrica, a book which celebrates one of Ricardo Bofil’s most iconic architectural creations. I tried on these Miu Miu Havana sunglasses while in Japan last year, and regretted not purchasing them… That I’m still thinking about them a year later says it all. Lastly, I’m due to top-up one of my skincare favourites from Guerlain, the Abeille Royale Intense Youth Repair Oil in Balm

March is turning out to be a busy month for me – (our monthly horoscopes did warn us about the chaos that was to come) – and I’m finding myself switching between multiple timezones and climates. With that in mind, I have been on the hunt for that perfect ‘just got off the plane’ look that makes it seem like I got 48 hours of uninterrupted sleep, showered and did my entire skincare routine. Luckily, I found it in Camilla & Marc’s latest drop. I’ll be adding the Novella shirt and Novella trouser to my wardrobe, alongside the cropped Neroli Short trench that I genuinely have not stopped thinking about. It’s… perfect? Paired with this Celine loafer mule (for ultimate ease when travelling), it’s a look that could take me anywhere.

The next item on my list might sound comical, but I’m looking for a pair of winter sunglasses. What does that even mean, I’m not quite sure, but my current selection of sunglasses feel way too sandy and not chic enough? I’ve settled on this pair from Deering that give off that ‘shade’ effect which I am loving. Also in the way of accessories, Dinosaur Designs has just dropped a new choker design that would look unreal layered over a white t-shirt or in the collar of a button-down shirt. The matching bracelet is tempting, too.

I recently visited HENNE’s Paddington boutique and it made me absolutely double down on my love for the brand. The Calista Cardigan is a modern staple I’ll be adding to my list this month. I was also recently and very generously gifted a Mason Pearson brush which has felt like such a daily luxury. Friends with Frank just dropped their Autumn collection online too, and I’m obsessed with their Clemence Blazer Coat in Charcoal Pinstripe and the Felicity Denim Trousers in Mid Black (those perfect pleats on the front has me in a chokehold). Beauty-wise I’m pretty minimal these days, but have been waiting to purchase the Officine Universelle Buly Eau de la Belle Haleine mouth wash (elevated essentials is my current mantra). And finally, I tried on this Jil Sander Belted Wool Shirt last month and haven’t stopped thinking of it since. Perhaps now their CDs have left its a chance to get hands on a memento from their collections…

Even though I love summer, I always look forward to cooler weather. I really need a coat, in my dreams it would be this furry one from Toteme — is it cold enough in Sydney to wear it? Otherwise, I love the tailored shape of this one by Australian label Beare Park. I tried on The Row Gala pants again last week and it’s confirmed, I have to have them. Finally, judge me if you will, but I just got back from Japan and saw enough people wearing platform uggs to sway me. Into the cart they go…

On the winter wellness front, I need to restock my beloved The Beauty Chef Glow Powder, I’ve taken it daily for about 10 years. I’m also dedicated to bone broth right now, I love the Nutra Organics Concentrate. It’s on my shopping list. If you don’t want to drink it, you can add it to soup, rice or potatoes.

Okay, it’s take three on my attempt at finding a pair of cleated boots. Why are they all so uncomfortable? I’ve now bought these ones from Bared and am just waiting for them to arrive. Bared is apparently a brand all about comfort, so I’m hoping they’ll be a bit kinder to my feet. I’m also on the hunt for a cocoa-toned high neck tank. I adore this one from Friends with Frank but it’s sold out. Venroy also has a cute one that is again, sold out. I’m still hunting and very open to suggestions. I also saw the new Bydee collection in a showroom the other day and my jaw dropped. I know the warm weather is nearly at an end, but I’m so tempted by this purple bikini and skirt set.

I also have a few new beauty wishlist items this month too. Mircea is a stunning French brand that makes the most breathtakingly beautiful body wash. It’s a refillable formula that comes in crystal format and you add the water yourself. I also recently discovered Herb Remedy, a natural beauty brand. It has the most wonderful bar-style products and remedies. My personal favourite is the Breathe Easy Balm which helped me kick a horrible cough I’d been nursing for four weeks.

I’m not ready for summer to finish, but I am already thinking about my Autumn/Winter wardrobe.

I have spent most of my adult life looking for the perfect black coat and after missing out last year I’m very excited that Friends with Frank have brought back the Josephine Coat. Next, a bag and I am crushing so hard on this dreamy burgundy bucket tote from Maison de Sabré. Ideally paired with a Mr Wrong bag charm because we’re embracing imperfection in 2025.

Speaking of burgundy – these Camilla and Marc pumps absolutely need to come home with me. I don’t wear heels, but I’m willing to make an exception for these babies. And last but not least, this COS jacquard mini skirt.

I have a wedding coming up and would love to get a colourful day dress (as most of my dresses are black or white). I really love these two dresses from Missoni on The Outnet, one is a bit more casual and frilly and the other is a simpler structure, but flattering. I’m also loving Simone Rocha’s black skirt with a red carnation on it.I did just stock up on my skin care from Rationale, the number 6 night creme, number 2 serum, and the number 2 hydrogel. I did forget to pick up the Rationale skin tint with SPF, but that will be there next time. As well as my skincare, I stocked up on some makeup essentials, of course from Westman Atelier at MECCA, their blush in petal and their contour in biscuit. I also wanted to dye my hair. I can’t tell if I want to go blonder or darker and I’m tossing up a booking at Koda Cutters or Que Colour.
