I’m a notoriously nosy person when it comes to beauty products. I want to know whether you double cleanse at night, how often you wash your hair and exactly what you’re using. I want to know if there’s some special facial tool or pair of tweezers that have (hyperbole warranted) changed your life. I want to know what curl definer you use and which lip balm you swear by.
In short, I adore products. This is why I’ve asked some of our favourite Australian beauty experts to share the ‘top three’ products they can’t live without. The scope is broad – it can genuinely be anything, as long as they’re the three they value the most.

Joining us this week is Melbourne-based digital creator, Tatenda Luna. A familiar face at beauty and fashion events, Tatenda is always the smiliest, sparkliest person in the room, and her confidence is infectious.
It’s no wonder her ‘Get Ready With Me’ videos have captivated over 2.2 million followers on TikTok alone. Watching her tutorials, it’s clear to see this woman enjoys doing her makeup, hair and skincare. But like most of us, Tatenda admits that her approach to beauty hasn’t always been healthy.
“I’ve come to a place 1743994810 where I see it as a time of self-care, and to be as creative as I want! Beauty is art and I believe beauty is a reflection of our inner selves,” she says. “Instead of promoting unrealistic beauty standards, I think the way that I approach beauty encourages people to embrace their unique features, and find confidence in themselves.”
In terms of her own beauty influences, “Keke Palmer inspired me to try going ginger and I absolutely loved it. We have very similar complexions, so whenever I see her in a film, or at an awards show I immediately want to copy and paste her entire looks!”

How did you first discover this product?
I received it in one of my first PR packages from Mecca years ago, when I first started creating makeup content.
What is it, what does it do and why do you love it?
It’s a super sparkly eyeshadow with a shiny, glittery finish. The Urban Decay shadows come in vibrant colours that really pop and you can apply them wet for an intense sparkle, or dry for a more subtle shimmer. My favourite shade is Space Cowboy, I think it’s one of the best shimmers for warmer, deeper skin tones.
I love it because it’s smooth, easy to blend and perfect for adding some whimsy to your makeup routine. I love to place it on top of my eyeshadow, in my inner corners, on my nose, brow bone and the tops of my cheeks as a highlight. It’s also fantastic on your shoulders and collarbone for an eye-catching sparkle.

How did you first discover this product?
I first purchased it on a trip to LA, when I stocked up on some black-owned beauty brands that aren’t available at our Sephora in Australia. I loved the skin tint and when I saw the blurring balm come out, they offered to send it to me I had to say yes, I knew I’d love it!
What is it, what does it do and why do you love it?
It’s an incredible balm-to-powder formula that’s definitely beginner-friendly. It can be used to prime, highlight, contour, set foundation, and add sheer to maximum coverage.
Where would you find it and who would you recommend it to?
The formula adjusts its oil absorption throughout the day to suit your skin’s needs, which makes it a universal product for anyone in my opinion! You can now find it online in Australia on Glam Raider.

How did you first discover this product?
I first discovered it on TikTok. It was obviously a viral skincare sensation and people were using it for overnight slugging.
What is it, what does it do and why do you love it?
It’s a hydrating and soothing balm that I love to use whenever my skin has any flare ups, which has been quite often. I also use it as a great priming and hydrating base when I know I need to wear a full face of makeup for the whole day.
