We all know the weather has cooled off, but the change in seasons from summer to autumn each year seems to have more weight to it. It’s like the universe is opening a door to a room where one can stand still for a minute and take a deep breath – even if life is as busy as ever. I would even argue that coffee tastes better in Autumn.

Coffee-in-hand, the RUSSH editors have come together to share a glimpse into what our AW25 wardrobe looks like and what we’re wearing to the office this season. From layering with knitwear to footwear must haves – here is our roundup of workwear to tackle the crisp edge of the months ahead.

Autumn is definitely one of the best times of the year for fashion – the weather has cooled, knits are being unfolded from their stacks, the constant worry of sweat stains fades with the heat. And I have plans to lean in. First is a great cardigan – this Elka Collective Mohair-Merino cardigan and tank set is the dream right now. For days where the heat remains, this Deiji Studios Cut Out Cardi is what I’d wear – paired with a great trouser, like this woolblend pair from COS. And of course, no work fit is complete without a great, multifunctional bag. My pick right now is the APC Virginie.

I’m loving deep, rich colours this season and keep going back to Max Mara’s AW25 runway for inspiration. Heavy knits, coats and tonal outerwear in general are high on my list for an autumn workwear wardrobe. I dream of this Burberry Faux Fur Coat often.
JAG’s new drop in collaboration with Rosalie Burns has some great workwear pieces – my favourites being the dark chocolate boyfriend blazer with matching pant and the charcoal wool oversized bomber which would go perfectly with a pair of jeans and boots. Keeping with the zip closure detail, I’m a huge fan of Paire (their T-shirts are the best) and their new Merino wool and organic cotton jumper will be an autumn/winter essential for a casual moment in the office. And keeping the grey tones in mind, I also like this Fluffy Knit Vest from Friend of Audrey for layering over a white button up shirt.

For beauty, I’m doing my best to keep it looking hydrated over the cooler months so I’ll have my CAUDALÍE Beauty Elixir and MERIT Shade Slick on hand at all times. An outfit isn’t finished without fragrance, so I’d love to pick up MERIT’s Retrospect L’Extrait de Parfum – let me know if you’ve tried it.

I was doing some officewear curating on Pinterest the other day and I saw this perfect basic tank a cocoa colour. After several days of sleuthing, I found it. It will pair perfectly with a St Agni skirt I already have plus some stockings. I saw this earthy cupro dress and bought it on the spot, it’s perfect for those in-between-seasons days. As for autumn shoes, I love the idea of a flat mary-jane. I’m tossing up between this Tony Bianco pair and this pair from Marcs

Skincare wise, I’m switching back to the RAAIE Sun Milk Drops. I used them instead of foundation for a glowy, natural base. They’re a bit too rich for my oily skin in summer, so they’re part of my autumn/winter skincare regime. And to tie it all together, I have my favourite autumn accessory – a bold lip. The new Phyto-Rouge Velvet lipsticks from Sisley are my current pick. I’m obsessed with the packaging. They hit stores on 13 April, just in time for Mother’s Day.

I am late to the party on this one, but a friend of mine has recently converted me Uniqlo basics, their simple white shirt I have bought multiples of as its 100% cotton and has no darting, a personal peeve of mine, I so prefer a masculine cut that can we worn with a tie. If I’m not carting my laptop around for the day, and on location the Mulberry mini soft Bayswater is the best size for my essentials (phone, moleskin and headphones.) I may be getting soft but I’m exploring the possibility of wearing something other than combat boots, so it could be time to invest in a pair of Tabis or maybe some of the Dries cut outs for more of a heel. There is something about a trench coat that can elevate a look with ease, so for the busier periods, the Balsam trench will be my go to for instant elevation.

As someone who hates the cold I’m weirdly excited for Autumn office dressing. Probably because I’ve found two of the most perfect pairs of pants I’ve ever seen and cannot wait to style them. Firstly, these classic black trousers from Camilla and Marc. They have the most perfect piping detail on the front which give them that extra something special, and are lightweight enough for trans-seasonal dressing. Also from Camilla and Marc are these burgundy leather pants. The perfect colour to get you in the autumn mood, they’re a forever piece that I can’t wait to add to my wardrobe.

Next up, bags and this St. Agni tote is going to be my go to this season. The same beautiful, rich shade of burgundy it’s a timeless classic. For layering I also can’t go past a waistcoat and this COS cashmere one is calling my name.

Last but not least, some black knee high boots and I’m a sucker for Cuban heel. Comfy and edgy? Sign me up.

I love this time of year as the weather is still nice, but it’s cool enough to wear proper clothes. I saw these Toteme sandals IRL the other day — the heel height is perfect for the office, and I love the warmth of suede for transeasonal dressing. On the other end of the spectrum, I am in need of new sneakers (I mostly walk to and from work, and seem to burn through pairs quickly). I love something sporty to contrast my usual tailoring, specifically this all-black pair from Salomon. And because coat season it almost upon us, I have my eye on this pinstripe floor length style from Friends With Frank, as well as this shearling leather style from Cos (the chocolate shade is heaven). Cos do really good outerwear, in my opinion.

I would really love to wear to the office this Autumn Loewe’s new Madrid bag in the small size. Being one of the last bags Jonathan Anderson designed for Loewe, as well as the bag is just gorgeous. But sadly I don’t think it is realistic. I’ve been waiting for Doen to appear on Net-A-Porter, so I will be wearing a bit of Doen this Autumn. Particularly this floral blouse. And I know it’s a men’s sweater, but BODE do the coolest jumpers, and I would love to wear this one. And as we’re getting closer to drier weather, I will be loading my face up on Snail Mucin from Adore beauty, trust me on that. And to finish, the Rationale #3 tinted serum with SPF 50 plus.

I love autumn dressing; it is the perfect weather for layering up and wearing my fave jeans and boots, while also not having to account for practicality like you do in winter. My uniform for office dressing in winter is definitely jeans, a sturdy shoe, a great tee and a statement outer layer. For jeans, I’m turning to Calvin Klein, and these are the perfect wash and shape for the new season. Boots-wise, I’m really into this heeled chelsea boot from Burberry, the pop of plaid is super refined and would look great peeking out of my jeans. As a Devon Lee Carlson super fan, I was stoked when she dropped a collab with Reformation, so my go to top for as long as I can milk it (until it gets too cold) has to be this great yellow graphic tee – I love the neckline. And lastly, for this dream outfit, I’ll need a dream jacket. It’s a toss up between this Lemaire black denim option, or blazer coat from Friends with Frank. You decide!
