In conversation with the founders of SAUSSE

The holiday season always has a habit of sneaking up on us, but thanks to online platforms like SAUSSE, gift-giving doesn’t have to be a stressful affair.

We spoke with co-founders, Jaime Ridge and Sarah Jayne Kavali, about their growing business, and what’s on their personal wishlist these holidays.

How did you both first meet, and what inspired the vision behind SAUSSE?

What started as a client relationship back in 2016, fuelled by more coffee, lunch and dinner dates than we’d like to admit, quickly became a powerful creative collaboration within Jaime’s DILLONDOT – a visual playground, where we found ourselves lost in for a good five years.

With the closing of DILLON DOT – a big chapter to wrap up, this freed up space for new concepts to indulge in together.

And here today we’ve got SAUSSE.

A baby born from two creative careers that are heavily indulged by products from all around the globe. SAUSSE is a service that allows us to share these items – the hard to come by, they hype pieces and the new designers. It’s a service not bound purely to product sourcing, but equally a service that supports the curation of one’s lifestyle – and this is not limited to the wardrobe.

What has been one of your favourite projects to work on since you launched?

Curating pieces for a farmhouse in Glenorchy just outside of Queenstown in New Zealand.

What are your plans for this holiday season?

Family, food, and fine, fine wine.

And I’m set to land in NZ for the festive period and Sarah is just back from Dubai – it’s been two years since we’ve actually sat together in person,
(yes SAUSSE has been born over many, many ZOOM calls) so we need to get back to our roots, of copious amounts of coffee, lunches and dinner dates.
