I’m a notoriously nosy person when it comes to beauty. I want to know whether you double cleanse at night, how often you wash your hair, and exactly what brand of tweezers you’re using. I want to know what curl definer you always repurchase and which lip balm you swear by.
Want to snoop inside the beauty regimes of other creatives? Head here.
In short, I adore products. This is why I’ve asked some of our favourite Australian beauty experts to share the ‘top three’ items in their kit. The scope is broad – it can genuinely be anything, as long as they’re the three they value the most.
Joining us this week is Sydney-based makeup artist Isabella Schimid. One of the most in-demand beauty visionaries in the country, her work has appeared in countless editorials and campaigns for local labels including Albus Lumen, Venroy and Alemais.
If you follow Isabella on Instagram, you’ll also know how seriously she takes skin prep. To be a (very lucky) model in her hands means you’ll be treated to a heavenly routine, complete with sheet masks and sculpting massage with the best facial devices. Curious to know what products are always in her kit, we asked Isabella to share three favourites.
Product one: Victoria Beckham Beauty Satin Kajal Liner

How did you first discover this product?
I was hooked when I first saw it on Instagram and how easy it was to use.
Why do you love it?
The eye pencils are soft and easy to blend to do a smokey eye if you want to. The colours are great, and the colour intensity of the pencil is amazing, it’s so true to colour.
Where would you find it and who would you recommend it to?
They’re not only made for makeup artists, everyone can have a go with them because they are so easy to use and blend away. You can buy them online.
Product two: Emma Lewisham Supernatural Sleeping Mask

How did you first discover this product?
It was sent to me by Emma Lewisham.
What is it, what does it do and why do you love it?
It’s an overnight mask full of hyaluronic acid to plump and hydrate the skin. I use it under makeup for that instant glow. I use it as a makeup primer, I don’t wash it off so I get the full benefit of this beautiful product.
Where would you find it and who would you recommend it to?
Online or from Mecca – it’s great for any dull, dehydrated skin that needs an instant glow.
Product three: Charlotte Tilbury Hollywood Flawless Filter

How did you first discover this product?
I heard so much about it I had to buy it. My first bottle was purchased in LA at a Charlotte Tilbury concept store – what an experience that was! I think I purchased one of everything lol.
What is it, what does it do and why do you love it?
It’ a product that leaves the skin looking airbrushed and glowing. I use it under or over foundation, to add extra glow on the high points of the face or mixed in with foundation for that all over glow. I love how versatile and easy it is to use.
Where would you find it and who would you recommend it to?
You can buy it from Mecca or online. Everyone needs this in their life!
