The French clothing and accessories brand, Sezane, quickly became one of my go-to brands for stylish essentials and beautifully designed & classic items. A firm favourite in my wardrobe since the middle of 2021, I’ve always wanted to be able to visit one of their stores in person as we don’t have any Sezane shops located in Australia. When I booked my European summer holiday, I knew I had to visit one of their shops in France! I’ve filmed a “Come Shopping with me at Sezane Paris” vlog on my YouTube channel so I will link that video at the end of this post in case you’d like to watch it.
It was during my last day in Paris that I took the metro to the 2nd arrondissement and walked towards Sezane’s boutique which wasn’t hard to miss… decorated with summery bougainvillea flowers out the front, the brightly coloured blooms and fashion display as you walk up the entry stairs immediately encourages a sense of happy anticipation.
For anyone who has been able to visit a Sezane boutique after shopping online, you’ll understand the excitement I felt upon entering one of their “appartements”. Rows of clothing neatly organized, handbags & belts on display, the footwear section and the knitwear wall immediately draw the eyes. There was quite simply so much to see… a medley of colours and the opportunity to see all the different clothing styles in person meant that I was at first confused as to where to start!
After browsing the various rails of early summer clothing and perusing the handbag display, I made my way over to the wall of knitwear, shirts and denim. This section of neatly organized separates is probably the most eye-catching part of the Paris store and was where I spent the most time pondering which pieces to select to try-on. I already had an idea of some of the items I wanted to try-on and ended up selecting the Madeline top in white, Brut sexy jeans in black, Perfect Slim jeans in blue, Ann blouse in white and also navy and the Tomboy shirt in white and in light blue.
The try-on clips for all these items are in my YouTube video for a close-up look… one thing I really valued more than I initially expected was being able to try these items on in-store as opposed to shopping online. It allowed me to instantly determine whether the style or fit suited me and to see & feel the fabric. I ended up deciding not to purchase the Madeline top, due to the style & fit. I placed the Ann blouse in navy back after trying it on, due to the sheerness of the material. As for the denim, I decided to purchase the Slim Parfait jeans as I needed to update my skinny leg jeans and I already have a pair of the Brut sexy jeans in blue.
The items I ended up purchasing from Sezane included:
The Tomboy shirt in blue

Tomboy shirt in blue in size 32 – the colour of this shirt is a gorgeous light blue and I was thrilled they had this in-store as it had always been sold out online when I was looking to purchase it. The quality of the material is beautiful – it’s an organic cotton and is very soft against the skin.

The Ann shirt in white with black polka dots

Ann shirt in white with black polka dots in size 32 – a lovely collared shirt made from 100% silk. The playful print adds a point of interest and I find that the black polka dots draw the eyes away from the sheerness of the material. I feel like I wouldn’t need to always wear a camisole underneath this blouse, compared to the Chloé white silk blouse which is quite sheer.

The Perfect Slim jeans in blue denim

Perfect Slim jeans in blue in size 25 – a great quality pair of skinny jeans in a lovely mid-blue colour with a high-rise. These are made with organic cotton and a touch of elastane but they don’t feel like they will stretch out too easily, compared to other skinny jeans I’ve purchased before. One thing to note is Sezane offer their denim in both regular and tall height ranges – if you’re petite like I am, you may still need to get their denim in the “regular” size taken up. I found I still needed a few cm’s taken up for that perfect ankle length fit.

The Tomboy shirt in white

Tomboy shirt in white in size 32 – a duplicate of this exact item in my wardrobe as I already have this shirt in size 34. However after trying on the size 32, I found it sat perfectly on me in terms of fit. The shoulder seams were at the right point and there wasn’t as much excess fabric around the waist. The Tomboy shirt doesn’t have darts on the waist or any tapering – it’s a classic style and given I’m so petite I need to be careful with items that look too baggy. Sizing down was the right option and one I only learnt was the right choice for me personally by being able to visit in-store.

As you can probably see from the four pieces which I ended up choosing, none of these are trend-led or seasonal-specific. I feel the clothing I selected are items which are timeless and this is supported by the fact that all of these pieces are from Sezane’s “essentials” range. Versatile enough to do double-duty for both work and weekend, I’m really happy with my new Sezane items and confident I’ll be able to get many years of wear from each of these as well as across multiple seasons of the year.
If you’re a tourist and spend over a specific amount then don’t forget to bring along your passport to claim the VAT/tax refund! The Sezane sales assistant who served me at the counter was very helpful and quickly organized the refund form for me. Another point I’d like to make when it came to the service in-store was that I found the staff in the change-room area downstairs were very helpful with bringing different sizes and styles to try-on and well-informed about the fabric composition of various items.

Overall I really enjoyed my time at the Sezane Paris store and probably spent close to an hour there browsing, trying-on various clothing, filming content and lining up for the cashier. It was busy with both locals and tourists alike as I visited during lunch-time on a week-day. There’s pretty displays throughout the boutique including a flower section with seasonal blooms to purchase, gift items and the eye-catching jewellery & accessories stand.
I hope you’ve enjoyed my round-up of the items I ended up purchasing from Sezane in Paris and my thoughts on their Parisian boutique! I’d love to hear your thoughts on this post and I’ll link the YouTube video below for you as well.
