This May, Espolòn Tequila is joining forces with Australian-founded fashion collective, Second Life Markets, marking the brand’s exciting foray into the world of fashion.

The partnership was a natural fit. Founded by friends Stella Brackenridge and Meg Charnaud  (a luxury fashion buyer and designer, respectively), Second Life Markets has built a loyal following through community-focused events that spotlight curated vintage, unapologetic originality, and accessible style.

After making a splash with immersive events in the lead-up to Australian Fashion Week, Espolòn Tequila is extending its reach across the country. Debuting in some of our most beloved bars and local watering holes, Espolòn is launching Reverse Cloakroom – an activation that sits at the intersection of fashion, sustainability and culture. Guests are invited to swap cocktails for curated vintage pieces, amongst a backdrop of boiler-room style DJ sets and exclusive art installations.

So, how does the Reverse Cloakroom work?

Guests will head to the bar and order two Espolòn cocktails – choose from a Paloma, Margarita or Old Fashioned – and receive a numbered ticket to the Reverse Cloakroom.

You’ll then match your number to an item inside and walk away with a one-of-a-kind piece of pre-loved fashion. From accessories like silk bandanas and designer sunglasses, to reworked vintage tops (or even a rare archival piece valued at over $500), every item has its own story. Think of it as a grown-up lucky dip.

Where can I find a Reverse Cloakroom near me?

The Evelyn – Fitzroy, Melbourne
A stalwart of Melbourne’s live music scene, The Evelyn has been part of Fitzroy’s cultural fabric since 1968. Known for its eclectic crowd and deep musical roots, the venue remains a sanctuary for artistic expression.

Espolòn will take over its legendary Sunday happy hours, transforming the bandroom into a full-scale Reverse Cloakroom experience. Expect archival fashion drops, a bespoke Espolòn TV installation, and immersive sets from local DJs.

Running from June 1, 22, 29 and July 6 from 2pm until late.

Milney’s – Fitzroy, Melbourne
Tucked away on Brunswick Street you’ll find Milney’s, one of Melbourne’s most lively date-night spots featuring a spacious courtyard hideaway. With cassette mixes spinning in the corner, a curated drinks list and serious house-party energy upstairs, it’s the perfect venue for Espolòn’s weekly Thursday night takeover.

From May 29 to June 19, the upstairs space will transform into a Reverse Cloakroom gallery-meets-rave. With art installations by Second Life Markets, roaming artists, DJs and cocktails on tap, this is an unmissable celebration of community, creativity and chaos – in the best possible way.

The Lord Gladstone – Chippendale, Sydney
Affectionately known as ‘The Gladdy’, this iconic watering hole is getting an Espolòn-style glow-up. On Friday, June 6 and Sunday, June 8, Espolòn will take over The Good Space upstairs for an intimate Reverse Cloakroom experience. Same rules apply, just order two cocktails and follow the host.

Then, on June 26 and 27, the entire venue will come alive with a full-scale takeover, blending immersive installations, boundary-pushing performances and unique vintage fashion drops. It’s equal parts underground art show and late-night tequila-fuelled fever dream.
