AND JUST LIKE that, March has arrived. We’ve managed to stumble into the third month of the year at a breakneck pace, lurching to the end of awards season, nearing the close of fashion month, and watching our remaining Australian summer days slip away. Amid the chaos, it’s hard to stay abreast of the latest news buzzing around — but fortunately for you, we’ve collected the most pressing news clippings from the fashion world, both local and international, for you to know.

The collaboration between the activewear giant and the Sydney-based label is back again for its fifth iteration. This time, it’s “an ode to the elemental — where solitude meets warmth, where shelter is found in vastness”. Comprising two sneaker styles and an apparel collection, ADI005 draws from pastoral life, bringing an earthy colour palette to life. At the heart are the reimagine Superstar and Adistar Cushion sneakers, which get something of a gorpcore upgrade with earthy browns, milky off-whites, and black colours brought to life in vegetable-tanned suede, buttery full-grain leather, rich tonal hides, pony hair, and mesh, to name a few. The apparel is led by a reimagined tracksuit that echoes “the quiet geometry of domes and earthen forms”.

COURTESY THREAD TOGETHER

Founded by Andie Halas over a decade ago, Thread Together is a charity dedicated to helping people and the planet — partnering with almost 2000 fashion brands and retailers to save brand-new garments from landfill, redirecting those pieces to people in need. Now, they’ve launched their new campaign, “new clothes for new beginnings”, focusing on real individuals affected by a range of circumstances — including homelessness and domestic and family violence, and those seeking refuge from international conflicts or local natural disasters like floods and bushfires, as well as formerly incarcerated individuals seeking a new start. Aiming to spotlight the impact Thread Together can have on such individuals, the campaign hopes to bring awareness to the not-for-profit charity.

“For over a decade, Thread Together has been a lifeline for people in need, and this brand campaign is a reflection of the incredible impact we’ve had. Every piece of clothing represents a fresh start and the hope for a better future” Halas said in a press release.

Australian underwear label Boody has been revolutionising our underwear drawers for years now, and they’ve just upped the game once again with their new release: FreeMesh.
